Kathie Brown has a PhD in cell biology from the Australian National University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney. Kathie worked at NCIG from October 2014 to August 2015, and whilst there she managed a project, 'Extending the Benefits of Genome Science to Indigenous Australians through Appropriate and Respectful Data Sharing' which was funded by the Australian National Data Service.
