Summary

Professor Margaret Harding is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Professor of Chemistry at the Australian National University. She holds PhD (1987) and DSc (2002) degrees from the University of Sydney and has research interests in biological and medicinal chemistry with a particular focus on antifreeze proteins and molecular recognition of DNA. Margaret Harding is a member of the Governance Board for The National Centre for Indigenous Genomics.

Details

She is a Director on the Boards of ANU Enterprise, Australian Scientific Instruments, National Computational Infrastructure and an alternate Director on the Board of ANU Connect Ventures. Previous roles include Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) from 2008-2012, and inaugural Dean of Graduate Research at UNSW from 2005 -2009. She has been a director on the Boards of the UNSW Foundation, Neuroscience Research Australia, an alternate Director on the Board of Bionic Vision Australia, and was a member of the 2011 NSW State Government Review of Health and Medical Research Panel and of the ARC Advisory Council from 2011-2012.
