Title
Correspondence from R.L. Kirk to Dr R.T. Simmons
Description

Correspondence from R.L. Kirk to Dr R.T. Simmons (Senior consultant, commonwealth Serum Laboratories, Vic) (27/9/1968) thanking him for his letter and the results. Kirk promises to collect genealogical information on those people who gave unusual blood group reactions. He also addresses Simmons' queries in considerable detail. Kirk informs Simmons that the samples they received from Elcho Island were collected because of a typhoid outbreak and other samples were collected as part of a treponema survey, neither of which are related to the International Biological Programme and hence the accompanying information recorded is not always as accurate as desireable for genetic studies. Kirk also discusses the procedure for publication of results obtained.
