Description: Correspondence from Dave Morris (superintendent, Methodist Church of Australia, Elcho Island, via Darwin, NT) (7/11/1969) to Mr E.P. Milliken (Assistant Director of Research, Welfare Branch, NT Administration) regretting the necessity for giving a negative answer to Milliken's request for Miss Halley to return to Elcho Island to continue her work. The matter was discussed at length by the members of the town council and they all agreed on the decision. There is no single accommodation available at the moment but the main reason for this decision is that it is in the best interests of the people at Elcho that she does not return. However if another person can be found to do the work then they will do everything possible to help with accommodation and informants.
