This file contains correspondence between R.L. Kirk and Dr Judy Barrett of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. She provided him with blood samples from Kowanyama in Queensland and he provided her with blood samples from the Northern Territory. There is also a list of the individuals sampled at Kowanyama giving their name, sex, age and whether they were positive for the Hepatitis B Antigen. The file also contains a list of the prevalence of hepatitis B antigen in Aboriginals in various locations throughout the Northern Territory. There is a short report written by Dr Barrett on the hepatitis B antigen and antibody in Northern Australia. The remaining correspondence is between R.L. Kirk and R.L. Doherty, the Director of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research discussing the provision of sera by Kirk in order that Doherty may test it for arboviruses.
