Summary

Mick Gooda is an Indigenous Australian of the Gangulu people in Central Queensland. In 2010, he was appointed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner. He has been for the last 25 years and continues to be, an active advocate for the recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia. Mick Gooda is the Chairman of the Governance Board for the National Centre for Indigenous Genomics.
