Summary

Leonora is a small mining town located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, 833 km northeast of the Western Australian capital, Perth. In 2011, the population was recorded as 779 and 24% of these people were of Aboriginal descent. The four Aboriginal language groups in this region are the Kuwarra, Tjupan, Ngalia and Waljen people. The major industries are based on pastoralism, tourism, and gold and nickel mining.
